A Case Report on Oriental Medical Treatment of Congenital Impaired Hearing

Abstract
|
|
|
A patient of impaired hearing was received medical therapy by another physicians from foreign countries.
The past history of this patient was supported to this opinion before the treatment of congenital impaired hearing. Miss Magaly, 8 years Venezuela, was treated with oriental medicine to cure congenital impaired hearing at the attached An-Arm Oriental Medical Hospital, Kyung Hee University, School of Medicine, from July 26, 1972 to August 20, 1972(for 25 days).
We gave her herb extract(Ga Mee Soon Kee Tang) three times a day and administered pill medicine (Youk Mee Jee Whang Whan) twice a day.
Acupuncture was practiced ante meridian and post meridian every day. The result was as follows;
1. There was no reaction of impaired hearing test before the treatment.
2. Each ear were moderate severe impairment in case of 128 cycles, severe impairment in case of 256 cycles and 512 cycles, profound severe hearing impairment of 90 db over in case of 1024 cycles after the treatment.
3. There is no reaction still in case of 2048 cycles over after the treatment.
4. It could treat the impaired hearing with nocturnal enuresis due to disturbances of renal functions.
5. In future times, it could be expected the treatment method and research of impaired hearing due to disturbance of renal function.
